Langley Park Rally School

This page is dedicated to my time spent at Langley Park Rally School

On the 17th July 2003 I did a one-to-one course and I have to say it's was one of the most enjoyable activities I have done in a long time.  All the staff were very friendly and did their best to make me feel at home.  Holly was especially very friendly and got in my car with me, but she did have 4 muddy feet!

These photos were taken during my visit to the Rally School, as you can see there are a variety of cars to choose from (not the yellow 4 door though!), of course I had to have the Mk2 Escort.

Simon and the Rally Mk2 This is my instructor, Simon (in the photo to the left).  He was always very calm and relaxed and put me at ease.   He never once got annoyed or flustered, even when I was driving sideways into his neighbours corn field!!!

I have no idea how anyone could remain so calm while someone else was trying to put his car sideways between some cones.  Maybe the roll cage made him feel safe?

I would definitely recommend everyone to have a go at this, my head is still buzzing with the thrill of it all.  I think I did ok but on reflection I could have, and should have, done a lot better.  It had rained all day so I did get a very slippery and muddy course which made it tricky to control the car.
I think I will be going again sometime soon!!!
